CapSpecialty is always seeking dynamic, versatile Assistant Underwriters or Commercial Underwriters to add to its experienced, team-oriented staff. This individual will be responsible for various aspects of underwriting accounts within authority.  Assist underwriters in all areas of the underwriting process, including gathering, screening, analyzing, and evaluating information on new and existing accounts.  Make recommendations to the underwriters based on this evaluation and provide exceptional customer service to agents.

Education & Experience:

Assistant Underwriter Role:

• Associate's degree or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of insurance industry experience in an administrative, support or commercial underwriting role preferred.
  • Completion or continuing work towards industry certification (i.e. CIC, IIA, CPCU) is preferred and encouraged.

Commercial Underwriter Role:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
• 3 – 5 years of underwriting experience with an insurance carrier, preferring candidates with existing wholesale producer relationships.
  • Completion or continuing work towards industry certification (i.e. CIC, IIA, CPCU) is preferred and encouraged.
