This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days in office at any one of the following office locations: Hartford, CT, Middleton, WI, Chicago, IL, or Short Hills, NJ.

CapSpecialty is seeking an Underwriter in our Healthcare Department who will ensure profitable results and premium growth by adhering to underwriting guidelines. Ensure consistency and accuracy of all work produced. Develop and manage broker relationships while marketing CapSpecialty and its products as needed.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Underwrite and service new and existing accounts with an emphasis on profitability and a particular focus on determining eligibility of unique and one-of-a kind risk submissions.
- Establish and maintain a high level of relationship management with key agency partners. Provide excellent customer service by prioritizing tasks, responding to inquiries in a timely manner and assisting with technical issues.
- Assist business partners with inquiries regarding coverages, pricing, endorsements, and other account servicing matters.
- Engage in research of industry trends, market conditions, and emerging risks – in doing so, assist management team in the continued enhancement of the strategy for the product space.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Provide indirect supervision, guidance, and/or mentorship to team members.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong analytical problem solver.
- Ability to respond rapidly to changing work conditions and expectations.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- 3+ years direct experience of Miscellaneous Medical, Human Services or Hospital Professional underwriting or account management.
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- May be required to lift up to 15 lbs at times.
- Customary business travel including air and car travel required, up to 10% of the time.
