Client & Policy Servicing Specialist

This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days in office at any one of the following office locations: Hartford, CT or Middleton, WI.

CapSpecialty is seeking a Client & Policy Servicing Specialist who will assist Operations and Underwriting with profitable underwriting growth through exceptional service delivery to CapSpecialty's agents.


  • Increase underwriting profitability by attaining good competitor business and retaining good renewal business through service excellence.  This means, consistently meeting or exceeding production and quality service standards of quotes, new business, renewal policies and endorsements.
  • Process policies and related underwriting information using our policy administration system, CAP OnLine, WINS and Image Right.
  • Assist the Rapid Response Underwriters in achieving service standards by facilitating team communication, implementing team quality improvements, monitoring and ensuring team consistency and addressing service issues with team members and Underwriters.
  • Monitor incoming levels of work to ensure delivery of timely service.
  • Process policies within time service standards as dictated by management (e.g. quotes processed within 3 hours, renewals processed within 24 hours, and endorsements processed within 24 hours).
  • Independently resolve obstacles impeding the delivery of Rapid Response service and premium results, whether external or internal, system-generated or other.
  • Respond to change with a positive attitude and willingness to learn new ways to accomplish work and objectives by working with others in a team environment.
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:


Core Competencies:

  • Working knowledge of P&C insurance and personal computer and software programs. 
  • Ability to work in a high-paced work environment and independently deliver expected results. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Demonstration of a high level of initiative and problem-solving skills are required.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma, or equivalent.
  • 2 years previous insurance underwriting experience or training. 
  • 4 years customer service experience.

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • May be required to lift up to 20 lbs at times.
